Massage is increasingly being used within schools to promote respect for oneself and others, it stimulates the production of the 'feel-good' hormone oxytoxin which helps the mind and body relax. This in turn improves behaviour and academic performance. Massage also teaches children about appropriate touch which has been shown to reduce bullying and improve friendships - it is also being used as a child protection tactic as it enables a knowledge of personal boundaries and social compassion.

Touch is fundamental to the healthy physical and emotional development of children and has the magical effect of strengthening and deepening family bonds.

Bring your child along to a fun 1.5 hour workshop which will teach you both a simple massage routine designed for children aged 3-11. This can be practiced daily and is especially useful for settling your child at bedtime.

Parent's Workshop
Karmatime teach children the magical art of relaxation using physical games and stories inspired by yoga. Yoga is a way of living that encourages physical and psychological health. It has been shown to enhance the performance of the body and mind, whilst imparting a sense of relaxation and contentedness. Yoga includes physical movements, breathing, meditation and non-religious moral guidelines such as ‘ahimsa’ - non-violence.

This workshop offers an introduction to Karmatime for parents of children attending our classes and those who are interested in learning about what we do. The aim of the workshop is to share key stress-relieving skills with parents which they can use on themselves and then apply in a more playful way with their children.

The 2 hour workshop will include a free booklet containing all the techniques covered along with useful resources. The workshop fee is £12 (per person) – couples are welcome to attend at the discounted rate - £20 (per couple).

Get your workshop free by organising an event - you just need to gather 9 other couples and suggest a suitable venue, email Justine for details
